Lighting Mc Queen from Rizal - 3D

Order came from Leony for Rizal. A Lighting Mc Queen 3D Cake.

Has been a while not doing any 3D cake so last night was very refreshing time for me doing it. Basic cake using lapis surabaya. I just love my new lapis surabaya recipe, light, moist and yummy!

Thank you Leony!

Lighting Mc Queen Edible Image Cake for Father's Birthday

Order from mbak Etna for her lovely husband's birthday. The cake was lapis surabaya with butter cream icing.

There was a missunderstanding between me and mbak Etna regarding the edible image. I thought Mbak Etna would like to have the picture of husband and son in the second desidn that put on the side of the cake not on the top but actually she wanted the opposite. Also miss spelled on her son's name. Should be AL not Alya :-( It's all because no final confirmation made by email and I was about chasing the deadline so I ordered the printing without final approval from mbak Etna.

So this is also a reminder for all my customers that all orders given to Joris' Kitchen must be written by email. Even though you have texted me your order, I would be more than happy if you could reconfirm your order by email to avoid all miss understanding.

Again, I apologize Mbak Etna for the missed understanding. This will be the first and the latest. Hope we can work together better in the future.

Jonathan's 4th birthday cake (Cake-2)

The second birthday cake I made was for the small birthday party at school. It was also chocolate and nuts cake with 24 square size.

The theme was still Lighting Mc Queen and friends but this time as requested I added 2 more characters which were Max the truck and Matter. Jo still complained because there was no Doug hihihihihi....next time my dear... :-)

Jonathan was even happier with this cake because there was Matter, Mc Queen good buddy. Proudly he told everyone that Mommy made this cake for him! Love you son!!

Jonathan's 4th birthday cake (Cake-1)

I made two birthday cakes for Jonathan's 4th birthday as his birthday was on Saturday, June 13th and birthday party at school couldn't be held until the following next Tuesday.

Saturday morning before his daddy went off to the university, we had small and simple celebration for him at home. Singing happy birthday for him, blowing candles, praying and eating the birthday cake.

As it was only for our family, I made it in small size, 18cm. It's chocolate and nuts cake fully decorated by fondant. As Jonathan loves Lighting Mc Queen and friends, I made small fondant figurines for Mc Queen and Sally. It's not the best one as I was sleepless but he was thrilled and really melted my heart.

Happy birthday my boy. Love you and GBU always!

3D Lighting Mc Queen for Azka

2 orders from mbak Eki for Azka and Alya. Mbak Eki's children's birthdays are close to each other. Therefor the parents combined the two parties yesterday.

For Azka's 3rd birthday, I made him a 3D Lighting MC Queen cake from triple chocolate cake.

Lighting Mc Queen & Friends birthday cake for Dhyo

For the birthday cake, mbak Susi ordered a 20cm triple chocolate cake with Lighting Mc Queen and friends' theme. The color theme requested were red and blue.

When you decorated the cake using cake toys, that would save your time a lot. So I just loved doing it!

Thank you very much mbak Susi, glad to meet you with the whole family last night. Happy Birthday Dhyo, best wishes and God bless!

Lighting Mc Queen & Friends cupcakes

A simple cupcakes design for Dhyo's 4th birthday. Ordered by mbak Susi, Dhyo's mom.

20 chocolate cupcakes with fondant and Lighting Mc Queen & friends standing edible image. Packed individually to be shared with Dhyo's classmates this morning.

Thank you mbak Susi.

Lighting Mc Queen for Abin

It's been a while I didn't make any crafted cake. So I was happy doing the request from Santi, Abin's mom.

Doing the crafting cake for Abin't Lighting Mc Queen was a bit more difficult as this time I made double chocolate cake as the base cake instead of chocolate butter cake/devil cake as the base cake. Crafting sponge cake is more difficult than crafting a butter cake type. Besides the chocolate ganache filling gave a trouble to the fondant.

Any how, I am pretty happy with the result and ready to make another 3D Lighting Mc Queen for my beloved Jonathan in June as he was kind of jealous anytime I made 3D car cake for others hahahaha....

Mc Queen for Mumtaz

When Luki, Mumtaz's mom called me to order this cake the time frame is a bit too tight but I kept said yes to her as I thought it could be a good challenge.

I don't know what was going on with me....I thought I did not do my best when making Mc Queen's birthday cake for Mumtaz. Am I getting a baking blue? I don't know...maybe I wasn't too well....My alergic coughing has been pretty annoying at night. Oh no.....that's too many excuse which actually still not acceptable!
The Mc queen was made of lapis surbaya (surabaya layer cake). As Luki didn't want any base cake, I put some more cup cakes for Mumtaz alphabetical name and one more cup cake for putting the candle. The cake plate was too tight to put all things together and that was just very annoying me, but I was ran out of time so I just let them be.

So when Luki came to pick up the cake on Saturday morning, I gave her some discount for her son's birthday cake. I am sorry Luki....I think I should have done better than this....thank you for your understanding and hope Mumtaz' birthday went well...he is such a cute littel boy!
